Hydrotech or Hydroforce?
Posted By Tom McNall on 7/1/2003 at 2:01 PM

Which one is the best system for hard surface (ceramic and stone)? I have tried the turbo on a truck mount, and the salesman doesn't think that I will be happy with their portables (he wants me to buy a seperate vac unit). The pro-racer guys say you can do 2-5x the amount of work with their machine. Has anyone tried both portables or compared them with a t/m? I do not want to set up a t/m, and like the idea of the portables but all I get is salesman mumbo-jumbo and BS.

I have Both a TM and the HydroTEch Portable.

Ok I do sell Hydro tech stuff too.

in my view the Portable works just fine and comes in real handy when you need to get into spots Tm would be a pain. as far as cleanablity the portable will do just Dandy

This is what I noticed about the HydroTech Portable that was different from my Mytee. Used it on the same commercial carpet that was cleaned twice before with Mytee. All I know about carpet cleaning Paul taught me so used the same techniques. Mixed chems sprayed on carpet and allowed to dwell. One particular stain that never would go away (old fella couldn't make it to the bathroom and used the area marked Men's in clothing area).

Both portables were set to 200 PSI but I seemed to get more spray from HydroTech and made fewer passes. The HT portable has a greater GPM(gallons per minute) rate than the Mytee.
Used 50 feet of hose and maintained vacuum also. Going for 100 feet next trip so that I won't have to move the machine around.

GEORGE,

I need to know how they work on hard surfaces, I am not a carpet guy and never will be. (Not that there is anything wrong with being one, its just not my thing)

Tom the HT machine is made for Tile and Grout Cleaning.
using it on carpet is just a Bonus
A big one at that.
HT portable uses more GPM then the other portables so it cleans better

David's right on it but I'll go one step further. The tools can be used with any truckmount or portable and you can achieve outstanding results and great production rates. Butch Bowman bought a 12" wand and uses it with 100 PSI portable. The Portable increases the production rate that much more because of it's high PSI and GPM and outstanding recovery. It is capable of maintaining PSI and vacuum up to 200' of hose.

I'm sorry that sounded like and infomercial.

Where's Pete the faithful HT user? Pete you on a trip around the world or something?

George

Nope been on a few jobs. HT Machine well if you want my opinion it has changed some what from a few months ago. It would be wise for some Hydro Tech inc rep to contact us. The machine works great...when it is working. We've had a few issues that I'm sure can be resolved with proper follow through.
